Car Accident = New Rims

While driving home one day on the freeway, tired and only paying attention to myself and my driving I didn’t notice a young girl merging into my lane until it was too late and she hit me. The accident wasn’t serious since it was a direct hit on the side of the car but it did take out my front fender, part of my door and the front rim / tire. I was able to get the damage fully covered since it was in no way my fault. I decided to pay another visit to my cousin for some touch up paint after grabbing a fender and mirror from a local junk yard. I had enough case left over to get a whole new set of rims with tires.

Sebring Candy Black Cherry Paint Job

It was obvious when I got this car that it was in some hard accidents, not only that but it was about 5 shades of red. While working one day I had someone back into my car while I wasn’t driving, PLPD insurance doesn’t cover collision but since the car was parked while it was hit it was covered 100% by the other party. I was able to get the full quoted amount for the damages but instead of going to the nearest body shop for the repairs I went to my cousin with some candy paint I purchased from Craigslist and a new tail light from eBay.

Silly Sebring Project

So I bought this Sebring from my sister and it was pretty beat when I got it. I have been dumping cash into it here and there to keep it going and make it look better. The purpose of this section of the website is to share with you the changes I have made on the car and ultimately because people like to look at pictures of things being fixed, restored and made better.

Mazda RX-7 and David M. Orlo (v8kilr)

Published on June 1, 2010, by in Mazda RX-7.

This is the long drawn out story of David Orlo (V8kilr on the RX7 Forums) and the Mazda RX-7. I received my drivers license at the age of 18 in 1998. My mom took me shopping for a used car on a strict budget of $750, The reason I didn’t get my license until I was 18 and the reason for the strict budget was the fact that all of this was coming directly out of my own pocket. My parents wouldn’t pay for anything including my license so I had to do it on my own. We shopped around for a few days and I thought it was hopeless because I couldn’t find a single thing that wasn’t a big boat from the 70′s or a worn out Ford Tempo. In a last ditch effort i decided to check out the stock at a couple junk yards and there she was, a 1984 GSL Brown on Brown. At the time I thought I was getting a V6 and didn’t learn it was a rotary
